Burning in the Town of Sun Prairie

Restrictions

• At no time shall trash or building materials be burned.

Guidelines

Burning is permitted in the Town of Sun Prairie provided the following guidelines are met:

• A permit is required
• The permit is good only for the day it is recorded
• Fires must be attended at all times and must be extinguished by dark
• Open burning of leaves and brush only

The Drover's Woods subdivision, including Prospector Lane, has special burning restrictions. Please read this information prior to burning.

To obtain a permit please call 608-837-5066, ext. 4 and leave the following information:

1. Name
2. Address
3. Phone number
4. Township
5. Date and time of burn

Burning Conditions

You must check WisBURN prior to burning and again at 11:00 am.

Burning is Not Advised in Yellow (High), and is banned in Orange (Very High) and Red (Extreme). When levels reach red all outdoor flame, even recreational, is banned,
